Playing around with the new lens, so thought ‘Sharp’ could imply both for this shot 🙂
Spec: EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM II @ 1/100 f/4.0 – Handheld, standard overhead lighting, cropped tight.

Spring in Washington is certainly in full bloom…This is one of the first shots with my new EF 24-70mm USM II 2.8 L lens. Even in less that ideal conditions the detail was excellent, even without stabilizers ! This is the oak tree blossom outside the house, been wanting to shoot it for awhile now.
Update: 5 minutes later, it’s started pouring heavy rain outside, talk about grabbing the shot when you see it 🙂

Fun shot, shooting into the ‘brightness’ of the clouds required some darkroom work, but love the results.

For the last couple of days I’ve been trying to get shots of the foliage around here, but weather is not helping. So today I see a break in the storm, calm breeze and grabbed Jake for a leisure walk around the block…..
Silly me…
April + Washington + Active Storm + Teasing with a Temp Calm = Wet Opportunity
Yep, did not get three houses when things started to rain a little. Not enough to stop me yet, it’s only a couple drops. It had to be a linear measurement of how much rain started to come down as I reached the fifth house. I was determined to grab a shot of the flowers there. Luckily the five house run back kept most items dry within reason 🙂
It was worth it, I love the detail on the dark purple flower tips…
